我院与新加坡淡马锡理工学院于2013年7月1日签订合作备忘录，正式建立校际合作关系。为了深化我院开放式国际化办学特色，进一步增强两校友谊，促进实质性交流的开展，两校决定开展短期学生交换项目。该校学生来我院学习的时间为3月3日至14日，我院学生将于4月2日至9日赴新加坡淡马锡理工学院进行短期学习。
    3月3日，寒风虽然凛冽，却抵挡不住新加坡学生们从大洋彼岸带来的热情，十二天的动画学院之行拉开了帷幕。王英副院长对新加坡学生们的到来表示了热烈的欢迎，王院长表示：“新加坡淡马锡理工学院有先进的办学理念、完善的教育体系与雄厚的师资力量，是一所非常有影响的高校，我们很高兴安排贵校学生来我院学习，一定要做好各项安排，确保新加坡学生在我院快乐学习，安全生活。”设计分院为远方学子们制订了周密的学习及体验日程，了解异域文化的同时，汲取专业知识的营养。虽然中国北国之寒与新加坡高温形成了鲜明对比，但是新加坡学生们克服了气候的差异，认真完成了本次短期学习。3月13日，王英副院长与设计分院徐欣院长一同为新加坡学生们颁发了结业证书。
    3月14日，新加坡学生们带着喜悦而兴奋的心情结束了本次动画学院行。返回新加坡之后，他们用邮件从大洋彼岸传来了本次活动的心声：

Thank you Jilin Animation institute for giving this chance for us to have this exchange program. I greatly appreciate the effort and time put into organizing this, so that everything would go smoothly. I wish Jilin Animation Institute will in the same way benefit in this exchange program. In this 12 days programme living and studying as a normal student in JAI, I have learnt a lot useful knowledge as well as make many new friends in China. During my stay in JAI, I was very impressed with the exhibition of the student’s work. The quality of their work really portrays their interest, excellent guidance by the teachers as well as their creativity. I feel that this whole student exchange programme is an eye opener for me and I will pass my knowledge of what I have learnt in Jilin Animation Institute to my friends in Temasek Polytechnic. In my opinion, 2 weeks might be a short period of time
译：在这12天的日子里，我向吉林动画学院里的其他学生一样生活学习，学到了很多有用的知识,结交了很多新朋友。设计分院展览中的学生作品给我留下了很深的印象，这些作品反映出学生们的兴趣与创新，也反映出老师们的高超指导。本次交换项目开阔了我的眼界，我会把在吉林动画学院所学的知识传达给淡马锡理工学院的朋友。在我看来，2周时间还是太短啦！

Over the course of these 12 days that we spent here, we have learnt and experienced much from your teachers and students. CHUA MEI MEI

This is my first time to China and it’s a great experience in Changchun, Jilin province. The first reaction that I had was it’s COLD as this is the first time seeing snow.  JAI had definitely broadened my vision of a design school. With fully equipped facilities and engaging projects it is something we have to learn from. I’m also aware that JAI will focus on students’ fundamental in arts and design and this is something that I wish that my school and adopt such curriculum planning as well. I would like to thank 苏老师 for spend his time with us during lesson time. He’s a very encouraging teacher that motivates students to complete their work.
译：这是我第一次来中国，在长春的所见所闻真是太棒了！我对这里的第一反应是“寒冷”，这也是我第一次看到雪。吉林动画学院给了我开阔眼界的机会，设计分院先进的教学设备以及所进行的项目，都是值得我们学习的。同时，吉林动画学院注重培养学生们的美术及设计基础，我希望我们的学校也能这样安排课程。我要感谢（设计分院）苏老师，在我们的学习中花费了大量时间，他真的是一位善于鼓舞学生的老师，鼓励学生完成作品。

When I was sitting in class for Product Industrial Design, I really enjoyed the way the lessons were held and executed. My classmates are really very helpful that I didn’t felt any sense of awkwardness. Though the weather here was cold, I still felt a sense of warmness in my heart due to the addition of people that I have met during this trip. I have really learned a lot from this exchange programme and hope to visit this school again. 
译：坐在教室里和大家一起学习产品工业设计时，我感觉非常喜欢这种上课的方式。同学们都很友善，我一点都不觉得尴尬。虽然天气很冷，但是本次动画学院之旅，我所遇见的人们让我从内心深处感觉很温暖。本次学习，我收益颇多，希望再来吉林动画学院!
Chua Pei Shan

In the class, I do learn things from Mr. An Meng. I do like the way he teach the class. As for the students is very friendly which is very easy to interact with. We share ideas, giving comments to each other but sadly I unable to see the end product before I left. What I learn from this trip will be applied to my education in Singapore or even future. Lastly I do hope that the trip would be longer because I can’t bear to leave!
译：课堂中，我从设计分院安猛老师身上学到了很多，很喜欢他讲课的方式。同学们很友善，非常容易相处。我们一起分享想法，互相评价。但是遗憾的是，在离开之前，我看不到最后的作品了！返回新加坡后，我会将本次所学应用到现在以及以后的学习中。最后，我真地希望这次动画学院之行时间能再长一些，因为我实在很舍不得离开！

In the beginning, I was quite shy and hesitant to interact with the classmates we are assigned to study in the class with. Also, I am afraid the classmates will not understand what I am talking about as my vocabulary of Chinese language is very limited. However, the classmates are very friendly and welcoming. I had a culture shock while taking the trains here in China, as it is quite different from the train stations in Singapore. The stations here are not covered so it was freezing cold while we were waiting for the train to arrive, whereas Singapore train stations are covered. 
译：开始时候，我有点害羞，不敢和课堂里的同学们交流，还担心同学们会听不懂我的语言，因为我的汉语不太好。但是同学们对我很友好。坐公交车的时候，我发现中、新候车站的不同之处，中国的公交站不封闭，所以在等车的时候感觉很冷。新加坡的公交车站点都有封闭（因为新加坡实在太热了，需要遮荫）。

Beverley Look

My trip to China has been a really fruitful and enjoying one, I admit it was a serious eye-opener. Before I came over to China, my impression of China people hasn’t been too good as some in Singapore are sometimes really rude and unfriendly. However, coming here and interacting with the fellow native people have actually made a 360 degree change on the impression I have. The people here are not only amazingly hospitable, but are so friendly and nice.

译：我的中国之旅很愉快，收获很多，开阔了眼界。来中国之前，我对中国的印象并不太好，但是来到这里之后，通过和当地人接触，我的感觉发生了360度大转变，这里的人们如此善良好客！
